General Description: 

Manages Treasure Lake’s recreational facilities, community recreational programs and entertainment, and leads and supervises regular and seasonal department employees to achieve the department's goals.  Enforces all safety rules and procedures to ensure the welfare of employees, property owners, and guests.  Assures that all Treasure Lake policies are followed.

Specific Duties:

  • Plan, organize, and manage recreational activities from concept to completion
  • Negotiate contracts when required
  • Maintain records of profit/loss on each activity
  • Work with marketing on event promotion and communicates requirements to keep the community informed
  • Maintain data bases for specific annual events and marina leases
  • Responsible for meeting and event set-ups and tear downs
  • Assist with budget planning and monitor the department’s adherence
  • Train and supervise regular and seasonal recreation employees
  • Ensure that all monies collected at the retail locations and at events are accurate
  • Arrange for and supervise volunteers when required to help facilitate events
  • Manage individuals of all ages and abide by laws regarding underage employees
  • Approve employee timecards and time off in a timely manner
  • Approve invoices and create purchase orders/check requests in timely fashion
  • Order supplies for events, retail locations, equipment and facility maintenance as needed
  • Inventories and monthly reports
  • Keep merchandise stocked in all retail locations
  • Perform periodic safety checks of all recreational areas such as the pools, beaches, docks, tennis courts, marina, etc
  • Oversee maintenance of recreational areas and equipment
  • Work with maintenance department for repairs
  • Respond to inquiries and complaints quickly, keeping management informed when required
  • Work as an advisor to the Treasure Lake Recreation Committee
  • Assist in the hiring process and disciplining of employees if needed
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to effectively deal with the public and handle stressful situations for a positive outcome
  • Recreational and entertainment event planning knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must demonstrate good judgement
  • Organized, detail orientated, and able to multi-task effectively
  • Maintain professionalism, appearance, and the integrity of Treasure Lake


  • Must have clean background clearances showing no criminal or child abuse history
  • Must maintain Lifeguard Certification and CPR and First Aid Training
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule as required which may include holidays, weekends, evenings, and overtime
  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and cleaning driving record
