Due to continued growth over the past 5 years, Julie Graf, owner of One of a Kind Design, LLC has an exciting and unique opportunity available for a Construction Project Designer to become a part of her team.

One of a Kind Design is a full service, design company providing services to clients for both commercial and residential spaces.  We are much more than an interior design firm.  We work with our clients to discover their vision and help them to transform their space.  We work with them from the beginning of the design process through construction completion.   Our projects range from designing and facilitating full kitchen remodels to designing entire homes, or light commercial spaces.  We design detailed floor plans, work closely with contractors, and connect our clients to proper vendors to source high quality materials.  Our holistic approach to design and planning is key to creating a space clients love.  It’s not about just the kitchen or just the family room.  At One of a Kind Design we really listen to our customers, observe their style and entire home or business as a whole.  Our goal is to create fantastic spaces that are both functional and beautiful by working through every detail with customers, contractors, and materials vendors.

We are looking for an individual with a unique set of skills and experiences that wants to partner and work directly with Julie, the owner, and assist her with making clients dreams come to life!  Some of the skills needed and duties of the position are as follows:

  • Assist with project development and execution
    • Floor plans and detail drawings kept in organized, up-to-date manner
    • Calculating materials for design projects
    • Compiling specification pdfs of client project materials and drawings
    • Measure and document floor plans/site plans on site and input into computer programs
    • Proficiency in Chief Architect and AutoCAD as well as other related space planning/rendering programs including Photoshop
    • Communication and coordination with subcontractors
    • Coordinate active calendars; schedule and confirm meetings and appointments
    • Source and compile materials and finishes specifications
    • Purchase and track materials
    • Facilitate vendor relationships & account services


  • Cataloguing, organizing, and reordering samples as needed
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule
  • Ability to work within deadlines and coordinate the completion of tasks through to final project completion
  • Provide administrative office support as needed
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, computer technology, and Apple IOS
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (will train to some extent)
  • Some social media management and/or Photoshop skills a plus


  • Art, Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, and/or Construction trades education/experience preferred
  • Some construction and code knowledge is highly recommended
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Dropbox, file management
  • Ability to read a tape measure and architect scale is required
  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Follows instructions clearly and accurately within a timely fashion
  • Proactive and enthusiastic about delivering positive results
